
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A hit and run case has been registered after actor Maniyan Pilla Raju’s car met with an accident leaving two youths seriously injured. The actor’s name has not been included in the FIR. The police explained that the statements of the injured in the accident were recorded very late at night and they did not recognize who was driving the car, which is why the names has not been included.
However, the FIR has included the number of the car. The police have charged three serious sections. The FIR includes charges such as driving in a manner that endangers human life, failing to provide first aid to the injured, and not informing the police of the accident in time. The actor appeared at the police station.
The actor did not stop the car after the accident. The accident happened in front of the Trivandrum Club at around 10 pm last night. The police later arrived at the actor’s house at night, but the house was locked. The police also informed that his phone was switched off. Nived Krishna and Sooraj are the two who sustained serious injuries in the accident. Both are natives of Thiruvananthapuram. Nived suffered head injuries and fractured both his legs. The second has a spinal injury. Meantime, the actor told a media that he did not stop the car out of fear.
‘The accident occurred while he was returning after attending a function. I was not drunk. The accident occurred while coming out from Trivandrum Club. I entered the road after making sure that there was no vehicle. When I crossed the road and approached the bend, a bike came at a very high speed and hit the car. Both fell on the road. I did not stop out of fear. I will go to the police station in the morning. I was alone in the car. The car is in Jawahar Nagar,' the actor said.
The youths injured in the accident were first admitted to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College Hospital but later shifted them to a private hospital.
