THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: UDF convener Adoor Prakash has alleged that the media is fabricating stories against him in connection with the Sabarimala gold robbery case. He clarified that he did not appear before the Special Investigation Team (SIT) the other day in secret and that he was called to record a statement, not to be questioned.

"I came as requested by the SIT. I have given accurate answers to all the questions of the investigation team. However, the media is portraying it in a different way. The news that I was questioned seated with the main accused in the case, Unnikrishnan Potty, is baseless. It is not right to present a picture of me with someone as evidence. I have no responsibility to answer the questions that should be asked of former minister Kadakampally Surendran," he said bluntly.

Adoor Prakash alleged that the current investigation and the moves against him are part of a conspiracy planned by the LDF government. "No matter how the conspiracy is carried out, the UDF will come to power with a large majority in the upcoming assembly elections. No one should doubt this. Some officials are trying to sabotage the investigation. As a public servant, I do not stop those who come to take photos with me. Many people come to take photos, that is my duty. However, if I am convinced that the people who are with me are thieves or evil people, I avoid them," he added.
