'Satchidanandan's political criticism is immature and childish'; Murukan Kattakada responds to controversy on government's consecutive rule

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Malayalam poet and lyricist Murukan Kattakada stepped forward criticizing the statement of renowned poet and Sahitya Akademi chairman K Satchidanandan against the consecutive rule of the government. He told a leading media that Satchidanandan’s response was immature and it is not right to speak against the government after availing benefits from them.

‘Satchidanandan’s political opinions are immature and childish because he is not a political activist. Whatever Satchimash says about literature will have authority. He should be more careful while making political statements. He should not criticize after sitting in the post offered by the government. Satchimash's politics is Delhi. He is only familiar with the politics there,' said Murukan Kattakada. He said Satchidanandan should realize that the situations in Delhi and Kerala are different.

Minister V Sivankutty and others had come forward criticizing Satchidanandan for his statement. Satchidanandan made it clear in a Facebook post that he is standing firm despite criticisms. True democracy lies in listening to the invisible and the voiceless. This offers a viable path forward for Marxism. His post also said virtual fool’s paradise of cyber cowards had failed to grasp the implications of his arguments.

Many including writer Sarah Joseph came forward supporting Satchidanandan's stand. She said the Communist Party went into ruins only because they strayed from their ethos to a dictatorial nature.
