THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Tusks worth Rs 2 crore have gone missing from the high-security Pangode military camp. Two elephant tusks kept in the Officers' Club were lost. These were handed over to the army by the state government in 1929. Things including deer tusks are kept in the camp's strong room.

A function was organized at the camp on Wednesday night. Reports say that 18 people from outside the camp came to distribute food and set up light settings. The Poojappura police said the elephant tusks went missing after this. An FIR was registered in the case last evening.

The investigation is focusing on people who came from outside. Military intelligence has also started an investigation. CCTV footage is being examined. The police have not released any further details. The case is on the complaint received by the DGP.
