Attacked by SFI members at mall; non-bailable section registered against policeman, friend made accused

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A case under the non-bailable section has been registered against a policeman who was attacked by SFI activists. The case against Mithun Roy has been registered based on the statement given by SFI activists. The friend who was with the policeman has also been made an accused in the case. It is reported that the case has been registered on instructions from the top brass. A case had also been registered against SFI activists on the complaint of the policeman.​

The SFI activists assaulted the policeman who had come to the mall with his family. There was a clash between the SFI members and the police over a DJ party held at Shankhumukham on New Year's Eve, even after the time limit. Mithun Roy was part of the police team that assaulted the SFI workers that day. Mithun Roy has filed a complaint saying that the beating at the mall was revenge for that.
