Reena's plan
Sharath, who was working at a hotel in the Venpalavattom area, met Sheeba, who was a regular visitor there. Sheeba introduced him to her relative Reena. Reena had often told Sheeba that Chandra would regularly wear gold ornaments. It was after Sheeba shared this with Sharath that the robbery was decided.
Covered nose and mouth
Rajan and Babu were people whom Sarath had met when he was in jail before. They were linked to the robbery plan. They came to the house under the pretext of being Corporation Harithakarma Sena workers. The accused entered the house and attacked Chandra, covering her nose and mouth and stealing a gold necklace worth three and a half sovereigns and six bangles weighing six sovereigns. The accused, who fled after the incident, tried to destroy evidence, but was arrested in an investigation tracking their attire.
