Students’ car meets with accident in Bengaluru again; Five including driver killed

BENGALURU: In a tragic incident, five youths were killed when their car overturned and collided with a Karnataka RTC bus near Jindal in Nelamangala. The accident happened last night at 11.30 pm near Jindal. Of the five dead, four were students and the other, a driver. Harshit and Nikith of Doddaballapur have been identified. Harshit was a second-year degree student of Rajanakunte Sai Vidya College.

The Tata Indica from Tumakuru heading towards Bengaluru crashed into a road divider after losing control and then collided with the bus coming from the opposite direction. Four died on the spot itself. The students were out to celebrate their holiday. The car has been completely damaged in the accident. Though the seriously injured driver was taken to the hospital, his life could not be saved.

The Madanayakanahalli police have registered a case. An investigation is being conducted. The bodies have been shifted to Nelamangala Government Hospital for postmortem. The family said Harshit left home at 8.30 pm last night to meet his friends. Meantime, there were 42 passengers in the bus. Police said some sitting in the front rows sustained minor injuries and the others were shifted to another bus.

Seven students were killed on Friday when their car met with an accident in Bengaluru. The accident happened at 5 am at Satyavara on Hoskote-Dobbaspet national highway. Losing control, the car hit a bike and then rammed on to a lorry. Seven students of Yelahanka R V College with those killed in the accidents. Out of the seven, two students were Malayalees and they have been identified as Ashwin Nair and Ethen John George, both aged 17. The others were Arhan Sherif (17), Ayan Ali (17), Bharat (18), Farhan (17) and biker Gagan.
