THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Madhya Pradesh SC-ST Commission is in Thiruvananthapuram to collect evidence of the marriage between Kumbh Mela viral star Monalisa Bhosle and Uttar Pradesh native Farman Khan. The commission came to the capital to collect evidence on the complaint of Monalisa’s father that his minor daughter was kidnapped and married. The commission collected evidence at the Arumanoor Nainar Deva temple, where the marriage took place the other day. The commission examined the copies of the Aadhaar card used as a document to register the marriage, the application submitted by both of them requesting the marriage, and the marriage certificate issued by the temple.
The marriage between Monalisa Bhosle, a native of Indore, and her boyfriend, Farman Khan, took place on March 11. CPM State Secretary M.V. Govindan, Minister V. Sivankutty, A.A. Rahim MP and others attended the wedding ceremony. Monalisa and Farman had earlier sought help from the Thampanoor police station after their families opposed the marriage due to their different religious affiliations. Since they were in Kerala for a film shooting, the police summoned Monalisa's father. However, the father clarified that he would not consent to the marriage. The police then assisted in the marriage after Farman and Monalisa showed proof of their age.
However, Monalisa’s father approached the Madhya Pradesh SC, ST Commission, alleging that the minor girl was abducted and married. The birth certificate of the Madhya Pradesh government, showing Monalisa as a minor, has already come out. According to the Madhya Pradesh government records, the date of birth is recorded as December 30, 2009, at 5.30 pm. Accordingly, Monalisa is 16 years, two months and 12 days old. The commission came to Thiruvananthapuram to seek clarification on the complaint. The commission will take a final decision after examining the documents.
