
THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The price of gold has fallen in the state today. The price has fallen by Rs 60 per gram to Rs 13,465. The price of one sovereign of gold is Rs 1,07,720 today. The price of gold was Rs 1,08,200 per sovereign last evening. These are the rates as per the figures released by the All Kerala Gold and Silver Merchants Association.
One will have to pay Rs 1,16,000 to buy one sovereign of gold, including making charges, GST and hallmarking charges. 18-carat gold is priced at Rs 11,065 per gram and Rs 88,520 per sovereign. 14-carat gold is priced at Rs 8,620 per gram and Rs 68,960 per sovereign. 9-carat gold is priced at Rs 5,560 per gram and Rs 44,480 per sovereign.
Meantime, there has been no significant change in the price of silver in Kerala today. It continues at the rate of Rs 250 per gram. The price of 10 grams is Rs 2500.
The instability in the international market is the reason for the unexpected changes in the price of gold. The price of gold had reached Rs 99,480 on the 23rd of this month.
However, within hours, the price of gold increased again. The depreciation of the rupee is also the reason for the increase in the price of gold. With the depreciation of the rupee, the price of all imported goods will increase. The reason for the depreciation of the rupee is the increase in the price of crude oil.
