THRISSUR: BJP leader and actor Devan rejected the allegations levelled by the Congress in connection with the distribution of kits in Vadanappally. He also alleged that the Congress is a party that always lies. Devan said that he went to his friend's house to have tea while campaigning.

'I have a charted schedule from 8 am to 10 pm. While I was going to attend a family meet in Vadanappally, I came to know that the meeting would start half an hour late. At that time, I decided to go to a nearby friend's house for tea. While having tea there, a group of Congress workers led by T N Prathapan came and created a commotion,' said Devan.

He clarified that it is true that kits were being packed in the godown adjacent to the house, but it has nothing to do with his visit. Devan said that the family has four margin-free outlets and only normal packing was done as part of that. He added that the Congress' allegation that he had gone there to distribute the kits is totally baseless. Devan alleged that Congress workers were following him, an active member of the BJP. 'There is no truth in the allegations levelled by the congress. When I reached there, they created a commotion by saying that it was a kit distribution. This is politically motivated,' said Devan.
