THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: NDA candidate from Vattiyoorkavu constituency R Sreelekha denied news of her walking out of the election event attended by Union External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar. Sreelekha alleged that it has become a habit of a few people to write fake news in a bid to malign her. She said that her conversation with BJP leader and brother-like figure K. Soman was so personal that she would not reveal it to the media.

“The news of my walking out of the event is false and shameful. I will express my difference if any inside the party and not to the media,” said Sreelekha.

The event included a meeting between the Minister of External Affairs and prominent figures from Vattiyoorkavu at the Mascot Hotel in Thiruvananthapuram. The event was organised for R. Sreelekha. However, while speaking after the inauguration, the Union Minister requested people to vote for Rajeev Chandrasekhar and ensure that he wins. Jaishankar did not mention Sreelekha's name or Vattiyoorkavu constituency. With this, Sreelekha left the venue. Finally, the leaders persuaded and brought her back.
