KOZHIKODE: CPI State Secretary Kanam Rajendran has once again launched criticism against the state government over the Maoist encounter in Manjakkandi. The criticism was made through Kanam's official Facebook page. According to him, it is childish to think that intense left-wing groups like Maoists can be destroyed through bullets.

While stating that it is the court's duty to order punishment, Kanam reminded that Maoist activities can be brought to an end only by finding solutions to the issues raised by them. The constitution of India does not allow the punishment of any culprits prior to a court trial. Even in the case of Godse, he was sentenced to death only after undergoing trial in court.
