THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: CPIM state committee has decided to suspend P K Sasi from the party following the sexual abuse complaint lodged against him by a DYFI woman leader. The decision was taken in the state committee meeting on Monday. The woman had complained to the party's Central Committee against Shornur legislator P.K. Sasi, after her complaint to the state leadership was not taken up with seriousness. As per the party by-law, suspension is the most serious action that can be taken against a party member. P K Sasi is no longer a member of the party as his membership has been cancelled. Sasi was suspended on the basis of the report submitted by party leaders P K Sreemathy and A K Balan who were appointed to investigate the issue. The report said that Sasi made obscene phone calls to the woman, and clarified that a sexual misconduct has not occurred. Chairman of Kerala Administrative Reforms Commission, V S Achuthanandan had demanded an immediate action against P K Sasi on Sunday.
