THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: While the Enforcement Directorate (ED) is gearing up to extend its probe into for major government projects, the state government has opposed the move by arguing that the ED has no authority to investigate the four major projects. The government said that the probe into the projects is an attempt to undermine and subvert the government's massive development plans.

According to the government, ED only has the power to investigate money laundering and benami transactions. It will take a firm stand against inquiries into government plans that go beyond the limits of authority. ED's investigation has no legal validity. The govt is also planning to approach the court against the ED. The government added that the ED is being used for political gains.
