KANNUR: The party has deserted the Youth Congress leader who threatened to kill himself if a seat was not given to him in the local body elections. Former Youth Congress chief Jaimon Kallupurakkam in Kannur Kottiyoor constituency threatened to kill himself if a seat was not given. In an audio message sent to Peravoor MLA Sunny Joseph, Jaimon said that he has been working for the party for 25 years and if deserted will end his life.

It is believed that the party's decision to give seats to others made him send the message. Not only did he get the seat he also lost his own party chair. The party leadership said that Jaimon was suspended for insulting the party by sending messages.
