THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is mystery in the land bought by Vasantha, neighbour of the couple who immolated themselves in Neyyattinkara. The revenue department issued an investigation report stating that there is mystery in the payment of taxes and in the mutation of property.

The report of the revenue department has mentioned that the rule not to hand over title deed land has been violated. The district collector has recommended a police probe. Rajan and his wife Ambili set fire while officials tried to evict them from the disputed land in Neyyattinkara. Both died while undergoing treatment at the medical college hospital.

Rajan and his family were staying in a shed erected in three cents of land at Pongil in Neyyattinkara. The court had ordered to evict the family from the land following Vasantha’s complaint. The couple immolated themselves when officials came to implement court’s order.
