60 percent of Congress candidates are women and youngsters, those seeking positions should not come to Delhi: screening committee

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Congress screening committee has said that 60 percent of the Congress candidates in the upcoming assembly elections will be newcomers. Priority will be given to women and youngsters.


Screening committee member HK Patil said that the party would contest in more than 92 seats and all sections would be given representation in the list of candidates. Patil also said that those seeking positions should not come to Delhi and the list of candidates will be handed over within three days. He added that the survey was conducted by the party for the candidates.
