BJP state president K Surendran has alleged that an attempt was made for communal polarization in Kerala to defeat the NDA. Surendran told the media that there was a planned move for Muslim polarization in all the important constituencies in the state and that despite the loss of its single seat in the Assembly elections, the BJP intends to continue as a strong opposition among the people.

"There was an attempt for widespread polarization not only in Nemom but among Muslim voters everywhere. In Manjeshwar, we got tens of thousands more votes than last time but were defeated by 700 votes. Muslim voters within the CPM voted for the UDF to defeat E Sreedharan in Palakkad. There was a planned move for Muslim polarization in all the important constituencies," Surendran said.
