KOLLAM: A father and son stabbed a young man to death in broad daylight following a quarrel over not giving way to the bike. The deceased has been identified as Kaavanadu native Vishnu (29), an autorickshaw. Sakthikulangara police have arrested Madurai native Prakash and his son Rajapandian in connection with the incident. The incident took place near the Pallikkavu temple at around 1 pm on Sunday.

According to the police, a dispute occurred between Prakash and Vishnu after the former accused Vishnu of not giving way to his bike. During the brawl, Prakash attempted to stab Vishnu using a broken soda bottle. However, he was stopped by the locals who asked him to return to his house. After reaching home, Prakash told about the incident to Rajapandian, and the two went out in search of Vishnu.

The father-son duo blocked Vishnu's bike near the Pallikkavu temple while Vishnu was on his way home. Following this, Prakash stabbed Vishnu in the chest with a butcher knife and escaped with Rajapandian. Though Vishnu was soon rushed to the district hospital by his friend and locals, he died on the way.

The team led by Kollam ACP TB Vijayan conducted a search and took the accused into custody from Kurippuzha Kadavu. Vishnu's body will be cremated today. Wife: Ashwathy. Son: Adityan.
