Cases including gold smuggling will be investigated giving special consideration; Talking on Bluetooth while driving is an offence, says DGP Anil Kant

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Talking on Bluetooth while driving is an offence, said DGP Anil Kant. He made his stand clear at the press meet convened for the first time after taking charge as the state police chief. There were reports that the traffic police are preparing to take strict action against those talking on the mobile phone via Bluetooth while driving.

The DGP said more consideration would be given to the safety of women and children and action would be strengthened on complaints of domestic violence. The help of NGOs will be sought for the safety of women. He also said that strict action will be taken on issues including dowry.

The police force would be modernized more. Cases including gold smuggling would be investigated after giving special consideration, he said.
