Fashion Gold jewellery fraud: Second accused Pookoya Thangal surrenders in court

KASARGOD: Pookoya Thangal, the second accused in the Kasargod fashion gold scam and the managing director of the jewellery, surrendered in the court Wednesday. He surrendered before the Hosdurg court in Kasargod. The police had issued a look-out notice for him, who had been absconding for the past nine months. Hisham, another accused in the case and son of Pookoya has not been nabbed so far.

Pookoya went hiding after police arrested M C Kamaruddin, former Manjeswaram MLA and Muslim League leader and another accused in the case.

Kamaruddin was the chairman of Fashion Gold Jewellery. The case is that the company had cheated the investors after they invested money and gold with a promise for good returns. They cheated 749 people who invested in their company. There are 77 cases in the name of these three people. Kamaruddin, arrested is presently out on bail.
