HC toughen stand in tree felling case, directs special team to probe case and bring high-ups to justice

KOCHI: The high court has toughened its stand in the tree felling case in assigned land. The court asked that all the high-ups involved in the incident be brought to justice and directs the special team to probe the tree robbery. The court was hearing a petition seeking a CBI probe into the tree felling case.

The High Court also directed that the probe should not be limited to the tree felling in assigned land and that a special team should probe the deforestation of government lands and forest lands across the state.
