Kerala rain: Minister K Rajan announces financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh to families of deceased

KOTTAYAM: Revenue Minister K Rajan has announced financial assistance of Rs 4 lakh each to the families of those who lost their lives following incessant rains in the state. He said that the compensation would be paid on time and that the authorities have been instructed to distribute the initial payments.

The minister also said that immediate assistance would be announced for Kottayam and Idukki districts. He added that matters related to the burial of the dead and the treatment of the injured would be dealt with accurately.

Meanwhile, the death toll in Kootickal has reached 11. The bodies of eight people were recovered today. In Kokkayar, a search for 8 missing persons, including five children, is on.
