ALAPPUZHA: Soon after the three of the five accused were awarded life imprisonment in the Kainakari Jayesh murder case, they threatened the prosecutor. After creating an atmosphere of terror in the premises of the court, they screamed saying the prosecutor would be killed.
Three of the accused were awarded life imprisonment. The court found guilty Sajan (32), second accused, Nandu (27), third, Jeneesh (39), fourth, Santhosh (38) ninth and Kunjumon (64), tenth accused, for murdering Jayesh, a native of Kainakari in Alappuzha. The other five accused were acquitted by the Alappuzha First additional district judge A Ajaz. The ninth and the tenth accused were sentenced to two years in prison. Punnamada Abhilash, the main accused in the case, was killed during the time of the trial.
The accused hacked Jayesh to death in front of his parents and wife due to previous enmity on March 24 in 2014 at 10.30 pm. They also vandalised his house. The court also imposed a fine of Rs one lakh. The police chased some goons who were in the premises of the court at the time of pronouncing the verdict.
