'Edappal run will be now through flyover': V Sivankutty informs flyover inauguration through Facebook post trolling BJP activist's famous 'run'

MALAPPURAM: The long-awaited wish of Edappal residents, the Edappal flyover, will be inaugurated tomorrow. Meanwhile, Education Minister V Sivankutty has come up with a witty troll with a photoshopped picture of Sumesh Edappal running on the Edappal flyover. The minister's Facebook post is titled 'Edappal run will be now through flyover'.

Police in riot gear stormed a rally during the Sabarimala women's entry protest as hundreds of BJP-RSS activists fled. Following this, the run became known on social media as 'Edappal Run'.

Edappal is the busiest junction on the Thrissur-Kuttipuram State Highway. It is hoped that the new flyover will ease the congestion here. The bridge was built via KIIFB at a cost of Rs 13.6 crore. Public Works Minister PA Mohammad Riyas will inaugurate the flyover on Saturday at 10 am. Ministers KN Balagopal, V Abdur Rahman, ET Mohammed Basheer MP, MLAs P Nandakumar and Abid Hussain Thangal will be present at the public function after the inauguration. KT Jaleel MLA will preside over the function.
