THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: General Education and Labor Department Minister V Sivankutty said that the next phase of the Khader Committee report will be implemented in the next academic year. The Minister was inaugurating the new multi-storied building in the office of the Director of General Education. All sections will be consulted before the recommendations are implemented. Implementation of what was recommended by the Khader Committee was acceptable to all. No one should worry about this. The minister also said that no one will lose their job.
A new multi-storied building in the office of the Director of General Education was built to implement the concept of 'General Education Department under one roof'. The policy decision of the government is to make minus 2 to plus 2 a single department and enable the coordination of schools. The same is the recommendation of the Khader Committee.
Construction of the building started in 2013 but with the arrival of the new government in 2019, a new direction was taken and the building work was accelerated. The five-storey building is organized into sections up to the secondary level, higher secondary section and vocational higher secondary section.
The e-office system, which was devised to establish a paperless environment in government offices with the aim of providing transparent and speedy services from government offices, has currently been implemented in all offices under the General Education Department. This building has been designed as a completely paperless office based on this.
We are passing through a period where educational institutions are being modernized. The will of the government to change the General Education Directorate, which controls all such institutions, to a state-of-the-art facility is revealed by the inauguration of this multi-storied building, Minister V Sivankutty pointed out.
