THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Detailed Project Report(DPR) of the K-Rail project is out. The 3773-page study report has now been released in six volumes. The DPR also contains information related to environmental impact assessment. The Centre for Environment and Development in Thiruvananthapuram conducted a detailed environmental impact study. This study explains what will happen to the entire flora and fauna of the area where the SilverLine crosses. This study report is 320 pages long.
The DPR specifies the number of buildings to be demolished and the number of temples to be demolished when the project comes into effect. Traffic survey, geotechnical investigation report and topographic survey are also part of the DPR.
The DPR also has a 203-page traffic survey that provides detailed information on fuel savings and time savings if the project is implemented. The 974-page geotechnical investigation report and the 470-page topographical survey are part of the DPR. The DPR also includes a feasible study report detailing the benefits of the project.
