NEW DELHI: The People’s Liberation Army (PLA) of China has abducted a 17-year-old boy from Arunachal Pradesh's Upper Siang district. The state’s MP Tapir Gao revealed the news through his twitter handle. The new move comes in backdrop of the ongoing military level dialogues between the two nations for resolving friction at the border.
The teenager identified as Miram Taron who hails from Lungta Jor under Siyungla area was abducted by the Chinese army. The PLA had abducted two Indian citizens. Taron's friend Johny Yaiying, who managed to escape, informed the authorities about the kidnapping. The incident occurred while both of them were hunting in the area.
Tapir Gao has informed that he has asked the Union government to take all necessary measures to find Miram Taron. The police has started the investigation.
In September 2020, the PLA had abducted five boys from Arunachal Pradesh in a similar manner. They were released only after a week. In 2018, the Chinese had illegally constructed roads in the area which resulted in disputes between the two countries. The new provocation comes in the backdrop of these events.
