Auto driver Hussain wins Karunya lottery of 80 lakh; shower of prizes follows

KOTHAMANGALAM: T R Hussain of Thenguvila, an auto driver in the Kuttampuzha Noorekar junction, has won the first prize of Karunya lottery. His ticket numbered KW 749886, won a prize of 80 lakhs in the draw held on Saturday. Hussain came to know about his victory on Sunday.

Hussain had bought five tickets of the same number from different series, from a lottery ticket seller Plachikkattu Rajan, a native of Noorekar. He will receive four consolation prizes of Rs 8000 each. Hussain buys lottery tickets occasionally, but this is the first time that he has won such a huge prize. He had been an auto driver in the Noorekar junction for 15 years. The ticket will be submitted to the bank on Monday. His wife is Shemeela and children Tifana, Alfana and Badushah.
