THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: BJP state president K Surendran has demanded an inquiry into allegations made by chairman Dr B Ashok that KSEB incurred crores of rupees during the last Pinarayi Vijayan government.

"The allegation of the Electricity Board Chairman points to the corruption committed by the first Pinarayi government. All the corruption during the first Manmohan Singh government came to light during the second UPA government. The Left government is following the same pattern. The Chief Minister should respond to the corruption that took place during his first government. The Electricity minister has a guilty silence. Former minister MM Mani threatened KSEB chairman because he has something to hide," Surendran said.

"As per reports, KSEB witnessed the biggest corruption in the history while MM Mani served as Electricity Minister. The allegation made by the chairman on KSEB's Facebook page that the Left unions had exercised abuse of power and financial wastage during the term of the previous LDF government is serious," he added.
