Man and woman killed as bike collided with bus following tyre explosion

CHENGANNUR: A young man and a woman were killed as their bike collided with an oncoming KSRTC super fast bus after the rear tire of the bike exploded. The deceased have been identified as Alan J Thomas, 27, son of Shibu of AJ Villa in Thekku Koppara in Charummoodu's Chunakkara, and Jency Ann Jose, 25, daughter of Jose of Jain Villa in Chunakkara. Jose is Shibu's cousin.

The accident took place near the Erappuzha bridge in Kallisheri at 1 pm yesterday. Jency is a Dialysis Technician at Thiruvalla Taluk Hospital. She was going to the hospital for duty on a bike with Alan. The bus was coming from Kottayam. The injured were rushed to Chengannur District Hospital but could not be rescued.

Jency's marriage was fixed on May 4 with a Thiruvananthapuram Poovar native, who is employed in Kuwait. Jency's mother is Julie. Brother: Jayan T. Jose (Class 9 student). Alan is an employee of a clothing store in Charummoodu. Mother: Gracie. His brother Anu is a polytechnic student.
