THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The ambulance carrying the organs of 10-month-old Alin Sherin Abraham reached Thiruvananthapuram from Amrita Hospital in Kochi. The organs were first taken to KIMS Hospital, then to Sree Chitra Institute, and later to the SAT Hospital attached to the Thiruvananthapuram Medical College.

Alin's liver will be transplanted to a six-month-old baby at KIMS Hospital. The kidneys will be transplanted to a child undergoing treatment in the Pediatric Nephrology ward of SAT Hospital. The heart valve will be handed over to Sree Chitra Institute. This is the first time in the state’s history that organs from a 10-month-old baby are being donated.

The ambulance took around three and a half hours to reach Thiruvananthapuram from Ernakulam. Police arranged a green corridor by controlling traffic to ensure the ambulance could travel quickly without delays.
