KOCHI: Women in Cinema Collective demanded to ban Liju Krishna, a director, arrested for sexually abusing a woman in the pretext of marriage. He should be banned from working in the Malayalam film industry till the case is settled. In a statement, the WCC said they stand with the survivor and salute her courage to speak.

His membership in all film bodies should be cancelled till the case is settled and he should also be banned from working in the Malayalam film industry. The WCC reiterated the need for immediate implementation of the POSH Act in Malayalam filmmaking and a zero tolerance policy towards sexual harassment across the industry.
