Seven passengers run over by train in Andhra

VISAKHAPATNAM: Seven passengers were run over by a train at Srikakulam in Andhra Pradesh last night. They were passengers of the Secunderabad-Guwahati Superfast Express. When the train stopped due to some technical problems, the passengers got down and they were run over by the Kolkata bound Konark Express coming from the opposite direction.


Police said all the seven passengers died on the spot itself. When the train reached Bathuva village, the passengers pulled the chain. They were run over by the train while walking through the track. Chief Minister Jagan Mohan Reddy expressed grief over the accident and has announced an investigation.
