MUMBAI: Lucknow Super Giants opener Quinton de Kock was injured during the IPL match against RCB. De Cock was injured when fast bowler Mohammad Siraj's ball bounced off his arm. The incident happened in the second ball of the first over of the innings. But as soon as the ball hit De Cock's body, the bowler Siraj immediately reached near him. Later, Virat Kohli and Dinesh Karthik came and made sure that the Lucknow star was not in trouble. Commentators described the performance of the RCB players as an example of the best sportsman spirit seen on the field.

Earlier, RCB batted first and scored 181 runs in the allotted 20 overs with the help of captain Faf Du Plessis. Du Plessis, who scored 96 off 64 balls, helped RCB recover from an early setback. In reply, Lucknow scored 17 for one in three overs. De Cock was out for three. Hazlewood's ball was caught by Maxwell. Captain KL Rahul (13) and Manish Pandey (0) were at the crease.

Bangalore lost two wickets in the first over bowled by Sri Lankan batsman Dushmantha Chameera. Anuj Rawat was dismissed in the fifth ball of the over and Virat Kohli was dismissed in the next over. In this, losing Kohli's wicket was a heavy blow to RCB.

Kohli's attempt to hit the ball, which came in short length outside the off stump, was fouled. Kohli who hit the first ball of the innings was caught by Hooda at the backward point. Glenn Maxwell and Suyash Prabhu Desai, who followed, were soon out. Faf Duplessis (33) and Shahbaz Ahmed (15) were at the crease.
