KOZHIKODE: The Thottilpalam police have registered a case against a Youth Congress worker on the complaint that he made obscene remarks against CPM leader KK Shailaja, the LDF candidate in Vadakara, through social media. The case was registered against Thottilpalam native Mebin Thomas.

It was the DYFI Chathangottunada Area Secretary who lodged the complaint against Mebin. In his complaint, the area secretary alleged that Mebin tried to insult Shailaja by making obscene remarks through Instagram. The police have booked Mebin under the charges of incitement to riot and abusing women.

KPCC president K Sudhakaran said that if KK Shailaja was subjected to cyber attack it should be condemned at any cost. He said that it was not clear whether such obscene remarks were posted against the CPM leader.

"CPM has now started attempting to carry out bogus votes. The move comes after surveys predicted that the UDF will win all 20 Lok Sabha constituencies in the state. The UDF would lodge a complaint in the incident," he said.
