Three Keralites killed in Qatar accident

DOHA: Three Keralites were killed in an accident that happened at Mesaieed in Qatar. Three including a one-and-a half-year-old baby escaped without any injuries. The dead have been identified as Sajith Mangad (37) of Mavelikkara in Alappuzha, Rasaq (31) of Marancheri in Ponnani and M K Sameem (35) of Keezhuparambu in Malappuram. Saranjith Sekharan, driver and native of Iritty in Kannur sustained serious injuries. Sajith’s wife and one-and a half-year-old baby escaped without injuries. The three are undergoing treatment at Al Vakra Hospital which comes under Hamad Medical Corporation.

The team arrived to celebrate Eid at Mesaieed Sealine from Muaither on Tuesday evening. The team were travelling in two vehicles and one of the vehicle Land Cruiser met with the accident. People in the area said the vehicle lost control after hitting a stone. The three died on the spot itself. The injured were taken to the hospital in an air ambulance.

The bodies are kept at the mortuary of the hospital to complete the official proceedings. Rasaq is working in the real estate sector. Sajith is an employee of Woqod petrol station.
