THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Negotiations between the opposition organizations and the management of KSRTC on issues including salary distribution failed. Opposition groups called for a 24-hour strike starting from today midnight until tomorrow midnight. They also blamed the minister for not keeping his word which he said in front of the media. In today's discussion, co-operation CMD Biju Prabhakar has said that salary will be distributed on May 10. But the opposition organizations said that they are unsure about receiving salary that day.
There is no sincere effort on the part of the state government to pay salaries. Passengers need to understand that they are protesting because they have no other means. The leaders of the organization informed in Thiruvananthapuram that a strike has been declared now and if there is no result, there will be a bigger protests. However, the CITU said that they will not participate in the strike.
