India pays tribute to UAE President, announces national mourning tomorrow

NEW DELHI: India pays tribute to the late UAE President Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan. National mourning will be declared in India tomorrow as a mark of respect. The national flag will be flown at half-mast on all buildings and there will be no official entertainment. Earlier, Prime Minister Narendra Modi and others had expressed deep grief over the death of the UAE President. In his condolence message Modi said that 'Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan was a great statesman and a visionary leader. The relations between India and the UAE had improved during his tenure.'

Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan passed away this afternoon. He was 73 years old. UAE has declared 40 days of official mourning following the death of their President.
