THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A Malayali couple, who were coming to Kerala, was killed after their car lost control and overturned in Belgaum in Karnataka. The deceased have been identified as Venganoor native Binu Rajayyan (44) and his wife Sheena SS (38). Their children Naveen (17) and Nimisha (12) have been admitted to Belgaum Civil Hospital with serious injuries. The accident took place within the limits of the Sankeshwar police station on Sunday afternoon.

Binu, a driver for a private company, has been living in Nerul Sector 14 near the Nerul Railway Station in Navi Mumbai for years. The family started their journey at 6 am on Sunday. According to the sources, Binu lost control over his Mahendra Xylo car when he applied brakes to save a bike passenger coming from the opposite direction. Relatives have gone to Belgaum to bring the bodies home. Binu told his relatives that he would return home last week but it did not happen due to some work-related issues.
