Police provides 13 days arms training to obtain gun license

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala police will provide arms training to private individuals. This training certificate is mandatory in applying for a gun license. This is as per the central directive. The Central Government will soon issue special criteria for licensing training. The DGP has announced the fees and syllabus for the training.

The training will be conducted in eight armed battalions. Duration 13 days. Fees for training at various levels range from Rs.1000 to Rs.5000. Training will be in the second week of January, April, July and October. On day 13, syllabus based written test will be conducted. Those who successfully complete the training will be given a certificate as per Form S1. Licenses may be exchanged for family guns, but special licenses must be obtained to keep them. No training will be given if involved in criminal activities.
