State bids adieu to T Sivadasa Menon; CM attends last rites

MALAPPURAM: Former minister T Sivadasa Menon, who died yesterday, was laid to rest with full state honours in Manjeri. The rites were held in the presence of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, who reached the place in the morning.

Apart from the chief minister, politburo member A Vijayaraghavan, central committee member A K Balan, Speaker M B Rajesh, Ministers P Rajeev, K Radhakrishnan, K Krishnankutty and other senior leaders were there to pay homage.

Menon died at Aster MIMs Hospital in Kozhikode at 11.30 am yesterday. He was admitted to the hospital for pneumonia. He died of cardiac arrest. He was staying with his daughter Lakshmi Devi and son-in-law advocate C Sreedharan Nair, former prosecution director general, at their residence in Manjeri since 2016.
