THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The central government has increased the price of kerosene by Rs 14 per litre. With this, the price of one litre of kerosene has risen to Rs 102. The price of one litre of kerosene stood at Rs 84 in May. It was increased by Rs 4 in June. Now, the price has been increased by Rs 14. Kerosene is distributed from the ration shops at a price that includes freight charges, dealers' commission, CGST and SGST along with the base price of kerosene.
Although the central government had increased the price of kerosene by Rs 4 to Rs 88 in June, there was no increase in the price in Kerala. Subsidized kerosene is still being distributed at Rs 84 through ration shops. Minister GR Anil informed that the Commissioner of the Public Distribution Department has been instructed to distribute kerosene to the card holders at this price till the stock is exhausted.
