ISLAMABAD: Several defense media outlets have reported that Pakistan Air Force's strategic information has been hacked. The information was leaked from computer systems installed at the PAF headquarters in Islamabad. Defense media reports that hackers have leaked information in 15,000 files. The computers were hacked in May last year, but Pakistan kept the incident under wraps for fear of embarrassment. The hacking was carried out after installing spy software on Pakistani military systems.

The leaked strategic information was related to the military's satellite communication, military communications and nuclear information. The leaked documents include correspondence sent by defense offices. Last March, a similar cyber attack took place on the Pakistan Navy's network.
