KOZHIKODE: MLA KK Rema on Wednesday said that the cyber attack on KK Shailaja, former minister and LDF candidate from Vadakara, is an unacceptable mistake. "Even after 20 days of filing the complaint, no action was taken by the police. Police failed to stop obscene campaign against women. Women public servants, including myself, are victims of cyber attacks," Rema said.
KK Shailaja lashed out at a press conference while talking about cyber attacks and false propaganda in cyberspace. Then the leaders including Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan and CPM State Secretary MV Govindan took up the issue. UDF women MLAs KK Rema and Uma Thomas also spoke on the issue
"I have not seen the video circulating in the name of KK Shailaja. I am responding based on what I saw said in the press conference. One of the biggest challenges faced by women in the public sphere in Kerala is cyber attack. It should be clarified whether the police have taken any action even after 20 days of receiving the complaint of Shailaja. The allegation of covid-era corruption against Shailaja is not personal abuse. It is political. It is the failure of the home department that no action was taken 20 days after lodging the complaint. In that sense, KK Shailaja's words are also against Pinarayi (Vijayan)," Rema said.
"Shailaja's allegation that UDF candidate Shafi Parampil was involved in this cyber attack is false. Behind this is a move to reverse the original problem. It should be found who is doing the cyber attack. I will stand with the teacher in this regard," KK Rema and Uma Thomas said.
