Death of woman during delivery; baby too dies

KOLLAM: The baby of the woman, who died during delivery at the Cooperative Hospital in Ashtamudi, too has died. Harsha, wife of Vipin of Mylakad died on Monday. The baby undergoing treatment at the private hospital in Kollam, died this afternoon.

Her relatives alleged medical negligence of Ashtamudi Cooperative Hospital as the cause of death. Her condition turned worse just before her delivery. The baby was taken out through caesarean.

It was also alleged that the hospital authorities did not inform her relatives about her health. She died while she was being shifted to another private hospital in Kollam itself. The hospital said that she died of cardiac arrest.
