Salman Khan gets arms license besides bulletproof Land Cruiser following death threats

MUMBAI: In the wake of death threats, actor Salman Khan has been issued an arms license after he applied for self-protection, said the Mumbai police. The actor and his father had received threat letters following the murder of Punjabi singer Sidhu Moose Wala on May 29.

The actor had met with the Mumbai police chief late last month, seeking to own a gun to protect himself and his family. Following which, the license issuing authority began the necessary investigation. The actor was also subjected to physical verification. He has reportedly upgraded to an armoured and bulletproof Land Cruiser ever since the threats.

The death threats were issued by gangster Lawrence Bishnoi in connection with the black buck poaching case of 1998, in which Salman Khan was an accused. The threat letter stated that the actor and his father would meet the same fate as Moose Wala.

Salman Khan had faced threats during the trial of the case in 2018 as well. Black bucks are revered in the Bishnoi community. Due to which, the actor has received death threats from the gangster.
