THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: KT Jaleel, who made controversial remarks about Kashmir on Facebook, cancelled various events in Delhi and returned to Kerala. The MLA did not attend the assembly meeting organized by NORKA in Delhi to discuss the problems of expatriate Malayalis. This follows indications that various organizations will protest against him in Delhi. He refused to respond to the media following the controversy. Jaleel did not respond even when he returned to Kerala House. Assembly Committee Chairman AC Moidheen informed that Jaleel returned following a call from home. He also said that CPM has a stand on Kashmir which stand with the unity and integrity of the country.

Meanwhile, Governor Arif Muhammed Khan said that KT Jaleel's controversial remarks cannot be accepted. The governor further added that this surprised him. There are complaints against Jaleel in Kerala and Delhi. Complaints have been lodged at Thiruvananthapuram and at Tilak Marg Police Station in Delhi by BJP worker GS Mani. Jaleel posted the controversial Facebook post after he went to Kashmir during the visit of the Assembly Expatriate Welfare Committee members to North India. The post was withdrawn yesterday due to controversy.
