Accident at Kozhikode beach during concert; one arrested, case against organizers

KOZHIKODE: One person has been arrested in the incident of an accident after a barricade fell during a music concert in the beach. The police registered a case against the organizers after finding that adequate facilities were not arranged. The police have registered two cases. In addition to the organizers, a case has been registered against fifty people known for attacking the police and for disrupting their duties. Almost 30 people sustained injuries in the stampede.

A clash broke out during the concert at the beach last evening. The music concert was organized under the leadership of the Palliative Care Unit of JDT Islam College in Kozhikode. The clash broke out after entry passes were given to more people than the event could accommodate and after people from outside thronged the place. Six policemen were among the injured.

The police resorted to lathicharge to disperse the crowd. The shops were made to down shutters. Vehicles were stopped
