Got engaged after 10 years of dating, severed ties after going to Gulf, youth arrested on woman’s suicide

MALAPPURAM: A youth was arrested in connection with the suicide of 22-year–old fiancée. The arrested has been identified as Aswin of Malappuram North Keezhuparambu Kaithamannu. He was arrested on charges of mental harassment and abetment to suicide.

Manya of Thrikkalayoor Valillapuzha ended her life. The two were in love since their school days. After dating for ten years, the two got engaged in September 2021.

Aswin went to Gulf for work. He used to fight with her via phone on many things. She ended her life after he withdrew from the marriage. The police registered a case based on the complaint of Manya's relatives. The police got the chats between the two from her phone. The police arrested him when he came for vacation.
